Arcade Quilt

A few years ago I sewed a skirt and a skirt lining from the wheat print grey cotton and the white dot on white cotton, the cotton was too thick for lining and the poplin was too thin for the style. I found the remnant of the white print so had enough for the inner border.

The other blocks are the remainders of 2 Moda layer cakes. The prints are Holly woods by 3 Sisters and Le Beau Papillon' by French General. Yardage: blue gingham lefftover from a babyquilt/picnicquilt, the main navy print, cream dbinding and the cream thatched border are all Art Gallery Fabric. Batting: #hobbspolydown as I wanted it to be lightweight for spring despite using Christmas holly. Backing: is Stoff, white polkadot on grey.

Pattern is Arcade by Fabric Cafe.

Irish Christmas Quilt

Teal foliage squares/binding, beige background, backing: Benartex. Turquoise diamonds: Moda Robin Pickens made me think of falling water drops, I sewed 24 HSTs one orientation, then the other 24 turned, to keep the directional print. Outer border Robin Pickens. Inner border Art Gallery Fabric floral elements, Mr W thought this might be too grey but it is mint green to me. Batting: Sew Simple 80/20 individual pack. Quilting: cream cotton Aurifil thread, back thread is Superior Thread.

Pattern Irish Christmas from Fabriccafe, I received the Quick Christmas book from Mr W for my birthday. I like using 4 or 5 fabrics more than 3 and I use a double fold binding. Name blurred on label.

Patchwork Quilt

Skip to my Lou from Easy Peasy book. Prewashed cotton flannel batting.  I love the look and feel of a quilt lined in cotton flannel as batting, it's smooth and heavy like a weighted bedspread, it packs well for days out.

Blue and white tile print, Fleur de lis. Both Gutermann fabric remnants.

Blue tiny hearts John Louden. Grey flower Moda fabric. Backing: aqua geometric tiles Camelot fabric

Quilting: serpentine stitch each seam and criss cross on the blocks, very light grey Aurifil thread. Pattern is Skip to my Lou from Fabriccafe, from the book Easy Peasy 3 Yard Quilts (over 3 metres with double fold binding and directional prints).

Bestfriend Locket Quilt

Mr W likes the first version I made for my friend, so I made him one too, with a different border (matte gold geometric for the 1st), backing and binding. I purchased some more Tula Pink besties in green to make another, it's a colour I like (green and gold) and I had a half heart from my penpal in the 90s.

Ashford Square pattern from Fabric Cafe Quilts in a Jiffy. 42 by 60 inches.

Art Gallery Fabric green and ochre polkadot to bring out the colours. Windham atlas diamond for the natural background, I chose this as it had chain links. The backing is Tilda cotton I purchased on Sherwoods a while ago with a voucher, in cream, teal and primrose yellow. I useused the remainder to make a quilt for my friefriend's cat. Looks like a 2018 range.

Quilting is a darn beige Gutermann thread, which I thought would look gold but blend, bobbin thread is cream. I edge stitched each side of each vertical and horizontal seam, then just under 2 inch in the centres after the first 1.5 inch space.

Landscape Fandango Quilt

Tree landscape quilt! One to keep. It measures about 41 by 59 inches as I used a 2 inch outer border instead of 1.5 inch, the stripe fabric was a little offgrain so I had to cut carefully too and cut the stripes vertically, used up to 2 metres rather than 1 yard. It had cream, green and black, like the trees. It forms windows or stars, however you look at it.

Fandango by Fabric Cafe 3 Yard Quilts from the book Make it Modern.

Stripe is Windham. Mint swirl is Benartex. Trees are Paintbrush Studio. Backing is Benartex in a dainty floral.

Quilting is edge stitched each side of seams and a double line + through the centre of the blocks in Aurfil 2312 cream thread, aqua bobbin for the back.
