Lemont Blouse

Itch to Stitch Lemont Top in periwinkle blue and white polka dot Lady McElroy cotton lawn. The first version I ever made I had to fabric scrap, the colour ran, I doubt I'll purchase dark coloured Lady McElroy lawns again, it looked really worn, but the light colours have lasted a long time looking new.  Skirt in Minerva Cotton Canvas gifted for review - photos 30 June.

NL 6544 Skirt

This is the third skirt I made from New Look 654. 1 I gifted in a designer canvas and 1 plain pink cotton canvas. This time I used Lady McElroy cotton blend canvas. I pattern matched the sides and kept the fabric the right away up (pink to purple or purple to pink). I cut the long length View D but removed 6cm, I also sewed half of the skirt vent down like a pleat. I bias bound the vent, turned inside and then hadstitched it, the hem is handstitched too. The facing is cotton poplin, I used a long beige zip, sewn side lapped, and handstitched a hook an eye.

Melrose Top Blouse

Itch to Stitch Melrose Top  - this pattern has a peplum top or elastic waist dress, or cropped top option, which I sewed this time. It's the same white cotton poplin I used for my last quilt. I wanted to make more plain basics as I only had one plain top (pink Kosice) for summer. I found this pleasant to sew, the hem is banded and the grown in sleeves are cuffed. It's a tidy cropped length but still modest.
