For my birthday I sewed the Itch to Stitch Kosice Top and Dress in Art Gallery cotton poplin, it's short 110cm width fabric so I used most of the 3 metres I ordered. The print is called Embellished Threads from their Midwestern 'Spirited' collection. It is opaque, at least in a dark colour, and it is perfect for a shirt dress. The Kosice is finished with french seams and it has a self fabric sash belt. In this stripe print it reminds me of the Spanish or Latin Flamenco dresses or folkwear blouses. In hindsight I should have pattern matched the sleeves to the bodice but I like the orange tulips on the edge of the sleeves too. The sterling silver whale fin necklace is one of my presents from Mr W.
