Deer and Doe Fougere Overshirt made with ramie linen in baby pink gifted for review by Minerva. I sewed it with metal stud 12.5 cm buttons in gold. My changes to the pattern were to interface both sides of the collar, collar stand and cuffs, and then add interfacing to the top part of the pockets, more for wear and tear because this fabric doesn't droop. I'm not a fan of fabric that is too drapey, this one is similar to cottons and linen types, maybe even denim, my favourites. Ramie linen is made from nettles, I think a plant base must be like viscose but it isn't drapey, I recently purchased 6 metres of 'viscose linen' from another store not realising there was no linen, the drape was stretchy and no shape to it after one prewash at 30 degrees and it was unravelling at the edges, so I had to donate! I know from previous purchases I didn't like viscose twill (or challis), I was hoping it would be similar to these ramie 'linens' instead.
