Jelly Bricks Quilt

No pattern / own design. 50 by 51 inch small throw, picnic or babyquilt. This is the remainder if the Love Lily Moda jelly roll (I donated the pink and purple). I'm not sure what this block is called, but I made it using the rail fence technique, then unpicked a left seam to sew onto the right side to close the bricks.

I had only blue and red, and added another 2 strips of red from stash.

White rainbow polka dot leftover from the checkerboard quilt. Art gallery fabric.

Border Liberty of London, I think Sussex print. Batting Soft and Bright by Warm Company. Binding #artgalleryfabric purchased end of roll (remnant). I pattern matched the strips when cutting the double fold binding, and tried to pattern match joining the corners too. 2.5 inch sewn at 1cm.

Quilting: Aurifil thread front in light cream, darker cream Superior Thread on the back.

I purchased the backing cotton is 2023 as I love peach, but the print is too rainbow for my liking, I cut binding from it for the tropical baby quilt I made, selecting a colour code.

Organic Cotton Bag

Tote / shoulder bag made from organic cotton twill supplied by Minerva for review. The lining is 2nd hand from a quilting cotton bundle.  Pattern is Buckley Tote.

I interfaced all the fabric, except for the lining but I interfaced the top of the pockets. You don't need to interface cotton twill for totebags, but I like the structure. I added a button loop and Pigeon Wishes button from Stephen, Might use a smaller button as I rushed the sewing and the closure is very close! Could have unpicked the seam and added a few cm extra for adjusting.

I cut the outer fabric in 2 parts with a seam allowance as the print is directional.  Also added topstitching to the edges for extra structure. I used berry red Gutermann thread.
