Sewed some canvas storage bags for individual quilts. It took me a day just to do the binding and I used pre-made binding this time. I store my quilts in cotton canvas bags and ran out. Same pattern as the bags I made for storing fat quarters last year.
The lining is vintage cotton seersucker! Listing said 1960s. Then for the zip ends, I used never worn (purchased 2018) made in Uk earrings - one for each bag, and separated the orange on the other zip.
No interfacing for these ones, as I was just after quilt dust covers. I made the bag strap with light interfacing, and also used 1 inch cotton twill tape inside. The seams are finished then butted in the centre of the bottom, then zigzagged. Last time I cut the width wide enough to double fold, as the pattern is designed for turning the handle inside out and that doesn't work well with canvas.
Rico cotton canvas purchased 2023 originally for making a jacket.
