Iced Gem Bellini!

Bellini pattern by Capital Chic (PDF £9.00). The casual blouse style is suitable for Hawaiian or summer prints and it's smart enough to want to wear. The fabric is from a new duvet I purchased from George click and collect on my bike after work on Friday. It's polycotton so it's easy to iron in the mornings and doesn't crease easily. I can't eat iced gems anymore but I can wear them! Apparently they were made in the 1910's here in Reading, Berkshire by Huntley & Palmers. For me, they have a 1980's / 1990's nostalgia of childhood!
I sewed a 12 graded out to 14 hip this time (I sewed it two years ago). I used a medium interfacing for the collar and a light interfacing for the facings. I love this pattern as it is easy to make and looks adorable on, it uses french seams and it took less than 5 hours straight. I used brown tortoishell buttons as they look pretty on casual shirts.
May
Cotton shirting, pale mint stripes with a tiny green and burgundy floral. I purchased it as a 2m remnant and because the fabric is one off I used a pattern I sewed before!
I used small white/clear buttons and medium weight interfacing.  It has an airy and subtle-pretty look that I love, and certainly it is practical sewing!  I finished this shirt on a half day and early Saturday morning for the sleeve binding and buttons.
